In the summer of 2024 Nääs castle wanted to host open workshops of artisans. I applied and was chosen to be one of these. I decided to make, showcase, and teach lace making on site.

People come to the manor house to view the well preserved interiors and have a nice coffee and cake break in the summer time. I brought supplies for people to be able to try bobbin lace, needle lace, and knit lace. They could also view many of my creations and buy some select items which i had brought, such as stickers, cards, small bags and patterns on how to make similar ones. I had also prepared signs and examples of different lace techniques to teach people the interesting differences and histories of lacemaking! A proper conversation starter, in my opinion.
I also took the time to work on some lace projects in the studio, in front of people, and be able to have a chat about my process.

While on site I also did a social media takeover of the manor house’s instagram account, and posted daily about my ongoing projects.
